CoinBase – Super Bowl Ad

Well, the top spot on our ranking goes to Coinbase, and here is why. In February of 2022, CoinBase launched a bouncing QR code ad during the Super Bowl which brought stunning results. It was a smart riff on the legendary bouncing DVD meme, but instead of the logo, there was a QR code that was redirecting users to the ConiBase website for a $15 sign-up bonus – simple yet clever.

The campaign was so successful, that it crashed the app for some time. Super Bowl ad spots brought not only high exposure but increased app downloads by 279%.

Crypto.com – Fortune Favours the Brave

The second place goes to Crypto.com for its “Fortune Favours the Brave” commercial with the legendary actor – Matt Damon.

This must-watch video deserves to be named one of the best commercials in the crypto industry. During the video, Matt leads us to the fact, that we are on the edge of a financial revolution, and he ends the promo with a powerful note – “Fortune Favours the Brave.” No wonder this video went viral, garnering over 18 million views and I believe Matt’s call-to-action led to a large number of app downloads. Additionally, this video is also perfect in terms of branding and reputation management, as making collaboration with such a star as Matt – is the next level for the crypto market.

Binance – Burj Khalifa Light Show

The leading cryptocurrency exchange in the world, Binance, takes third place in our rank of commercials with its Burj Khalifa Light Show. In September 2022, Binance obtained the Regulatory MVP License in Dubai. The event was marked by a memorable show on the world’s tallest skyscraper – Burj Khalifa. The building’s facade was covered in Binance-themed graphics, and the words “Blockchain is the future” were projected onto it.

Dubai has become one of the world’s leading digital asset hubs, and getting a license here was a perfect strategic move. Moreover, the Binance marketing team has done an excellent job. Even though the official channel’s video only gained 20000 views, its viral reach was incredible in combination with offline exposure and branding.

Etoro – The Power of HODL

If you are a fan of “Game of Thrones” you’ll definitely like this commercial. Etoro, a social trading and multi-asset brokerage company, released an epic ad in October 2018.

The commercial features Hodor – one of the most iconic characters of the show who was guarding Bran Stark since he was a child. In the Etoro spot, Kristian Nairn is looking for a new advertising contract and discussing the offers with his agent, but… No mo words, this is what you have to watch not read.

The commercial was well-received by both crypto enthusiasts and the general public. Etoro managed to bring some mainstream attention to Bitcoin and at the same time, to get additional brand awareness.

OKX Commercial – “What is OKX?”

Just a month ago one of the major cryptocurrency exchanges, OKX, released a new commercial “What is OK?” A Perfume? Race car? Rap song? Cereal? – Come on, you surely know what it is. But some people might not. This is an attempt by the OKX marketing team to reach new audiences and attract users from the new markets. Just in a month video got more than 300,000 views. Although we can only guess how many downloads this video brought, the commercial looks interesting and extraordinary.
